-Inspired by the success of Page County, Shenandoah County’s school system has hired (well, laterally promoted) their first grant writer. Karen Whetzel, former principal at Stonewall Jackson High, already has a website up for teachers to explore grant opportunities.

-The Warren County GOP will have Joe McCain at their annual pig roast this Saturday

You too can finally own Foreigner’s greatest hits for just a pint of blood. I sorta prefer iTunes, but hey, whatever gets people involved.

-Good news day for Shentel: Not only did they pass through the first hoops on the way to approval for four new towers, but they also announced that they are purchasing a number of cable franchises in  Virginia and West Virginia: fifty in all.

-Congressman Bob Goodlatte has busy day planned on Saturday including *drumroll* door to door campaigning! Refreshing to see someone even so high up who sees value in the practice.
